Reviving Kampung Spirit: Designing Event Graphics for ACE.SG

Process Blog
Location: Singapore
Project Completion: July 2024
Target Audience: Startup Companies

Project Overview
Client Background: ACE.SG – The national voice for the Singapore startup ecosystem.

Objective: Create unique graphics for social media to promote a specific event.

Challenges: Designing a single graphic adaptable to multiple dimensions while accommodating all sponsor logos.

Solution: To make the event stand out, I opted for a design completely free of stock images. This approach ensures uniqueness and a fresh visual appeal. The 1:1 ratio design evolved into a carousel ad to fit all sponsor logos seamlessly.

Visual Style: I used vibrant colors and clean typography to reflect the dynamic and inclusive nature of the event.

Theme: Kampung Spirit – A series of networking sessions, mainly social dinners, intended for socializing and fostering community bonds. The sessions offer a no-agenda environment for startups and ecosystem members to mingle and reconnect.
Session Focus: The first session is themed "Blast from the Past", influencing the design to incorporate nostalgic elements that evoke a sense of community and heritage.

Design Process
Concept Development: Starting with brainstorming sessions, I created initial sketches to explore different design directions.

Feedback and Iteration: Based on client feedback, I refined the designs to better align with the event's theme and objectives.
Outcome and Reflection

Result: The final design was well-received, effectively promoting the event and engaging the target audience.

Conclusion: This project highlighted the importance of adaptability and client collaboration in achieving a successful design outcome.
